THE QUICKENINGS METHOD IS A 3-STEP PROCESS OF PERSONAL, LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION. IT CONSISTS OF:
1) Learning how to engage and utilize the left AND the right brain.
2) Embarking on the Journey and accessing our true potential.
3) Applying and leveraging the 7 Levels of Leadership in order to become a leader, a change-maker and a Hero/Heroine.

THE LEFT & THE RIGHT BRAIN

It used to be enough to compete by using logic, intellectual acuity and rational decision-making. That is no longer the case. In today’s global and hyper-competitive world, we need to use our creativity, our emotions and our intuition in order to survive and thrive. And coincidentally, by integrating the left and the right brain, connecting the mind, the body, and the soul, operating from a holistic perspective, we will also stress less, and be able to achieve much better results.

As Daniel Pink says in his book A Whole New Mind - Why Right-Brainers will rule the future, “Gone is the age of “left-brain” dominance. The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: designers, inventors, teachers, storytellers - creative and emphatic right-brain thinkers whose abilities mark the fault line between who gets ahead and who doesn’t.

Quickenings use a number of tools to teach you who to utilize your right brain, and to integrate both brain halves, as well as body, mind and soul, including yoga, meditation, mental training, and techniques teaching you to how to become more visionary and creative.

THE JOURNEY - The Hero’s & The Heroine’s Journey

The Hero’s and The Heroine’s Journey, originally coined by the anthropologist Joseph Campbell, tells us that each one of us has a purpose, a quest, that we are supposed to fulfill in our lives, and that there is a way to get there. That Journey is unique for each one of us, yet the steps are the same.

Quickenings has been inspired by Joseph Campbell and created a method based on those ideas. This method is a roadmap for becoming a leader of our own lives, which is a prerequisite for leading others and for becoming an agent of change. If we want to have a profound impact, we have to dare to venture deep into ourselves. That is also the future of leadership for every company and organization. ThereĀ  has to be a story, a reason, for you, and the company, to exist. What are you and your co-workers going to contribute to the world? Why does your company exist and how can you teach others how to make a difference?

Here are the four main steps:

The Call - Who are you? Why does your company exist?

The first step on the Journey is The Call. One day you wake up, and start asking yourself the most fundamental question there is; Who am I? Why does my company exist? It is only by understanding our purpose at a deeper level that we can change ourselves and become a role model, and a leader, to others.

The Quest - What do you want? What is the vision of your company?

The second step on the Journey is called the Quest. The Quest is about understanding what we want to do with our lives, and what we want to accomplish with our company. In the Quest we have to both look deep within while still keeping an eye on the outside to formulate a vision, a Quest, for ourselves and our organization.

The Path - How do you get there?

The third step on the Journey is to make it happen. When we have figured out who we are and what we want, it is time to make it happen. Whatever course of action we take, it has to be a combination of daring to dream, and aim high, with a strong practicality. It is important to plan, but planning is useless unless we also start walking the path, taking one baby step at a time.

The Quickening - How can I pay it forward?

The fourth step on the Journey is to integrate and pay it forward. Quickening stands for an awakening, a revelation, and a feeling of that we have arrived. It is an injection of life-force, because we have overcame our fears, and we have dared to take the journey into completion. Now, however, begins the most important phase, which is to go back to where we came from, and start sharing our insights with others - to pay our insights forward. After a while, the cycle resumes, and we will be back at the Call again, but now we will be operating at a higher level of ourselves, which changes the game completely.

The Dragons

Throughout the whole Journey we will encounter quite a few dragons, which are our own fears and doubts, sometimes ganging up with other people is fears and doubts in us and in themselves. We have to face, and slay, the dragons in order to continue the Journey forward.

THE 7 POWERS

The seven levels of Power is a description of the seven power centers in our bodies, minds and souls. But it’s also a description of the different power levels you can learn how to have access to as a leader and that applies to your organization as well. By working with these power centersĀ  you won’t only become a better leader, run a more successful and lucrative company, you will also grow as a human being!

Level 1. Survival Power

This power is fundamental and often overlooked. It relates to our right to exist, to provide for ourselves, and it is based in our body. It speaks to the most primal, tribal and existential part of us. Without a strong survival power, we are rootless, and can never get things off the ground.

Most companies are at this level, which provides the fundamentals, but nothing else. It means that your company provides a paycheck, and that is it.

Level 2. Creative Power

This power is necessary to bring forth our talents, and our aliveness. This is where we get the juice, the life-force and the passion from. It also determines our capacity to create. As a leader we need to first of all tap into our own creative power, so we later can bring forth the talents of our co-workers. And as a company, this is also related to our capacity of thinking big!

Level 3. Willpower

We need to have a strong developed willpower in order to make anything happen in the world. This is where our self-esteem stems from, our capacity to make commitments, and keep them, both to ourselves, and to others. We increase this power by setting goals and by establishing daily structures and rituals. Without a strong third power, we won’t be able to achieve anything, individually, or as a company.

Level 4. Emotional Power

Emotional power is increased when we are capable of recognizing and expressing emotions in a mature way. This also means that we have a capability for compassion, and can read and respond to other people’s emotions. Leaders are increasingly expected to be able to operate at a high level of emotional power. And for a corporation, this is related to how you are perceived by your customers.

Level 5. Communicative Power

This power is related to finding our own true voice, finding our brand, and daring to express that completely. It is about finding our own truth, and owning that truth. For a company, knowing our brand, and what we are communicating, is quintessential.

Level 6. Visionary Power

This power is connected to our visionary capacity and accessing our intuition. Today’s and tomorrow’s leaders need to be able to set a vision for themselves and others and be able to follow their gut. It’s virtually impossible to compete as a corporation without a strong vision.

Level 7. Wisdom

At this level, we are operating from our highest selves. We are considered wise and complete. Our presence illuminates the room, and people seek us out. Someone who operates from this power have the capacity to guide others to become all that they are dreaming of becoming. A company operating at this level, can change the world (and make big profits in the process).
