ABOUT LOTTA ALSÉN
Throughout her career, Lotta Alsén has been an agent of change, as an entrepreneur, a CEO, a leader of a non-profit, a writer and public speaker, and as a leadership coach. She has started and led several companies, one of them being a Venture Capitalist-backed Internet Portal for women.
Currently, she’s the President of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in the Greater Los Angeles Area, while simultaneously expanding her leadership company Quickenings, with its headquarters in Venice, California, while also operating in Europe. Quickenings represents awakenings and brings a Scandinavian innovative leadership and coaching technology to the US.

Creative Futures Inc/Quickenings – Founder and CEO
Creative Futures, Inc, founded in 2001, is the American entity for Lotta Alsén’s methodology development, and dispersion. She’s also a CEO coach, yoga teacher and published author. She is now launching Quickenings, a branded leadership and coaching company and technology in the US.
Lotta Alsén has influenced thousands of people and directly coached hundreds of people, her clients ranging from CEOs to artists to entrepreneurs.
Creative Futures AB- Founder and CEO
Creative Futures was until the end of 2007 the European entity for handling Lotta’s growing coaching-ventures. She had been spearheading a multi million-dollar project, CORE, for the EU and for Swedish Innovation Agencies across Europe, focused on leadership and entrepreneurship development. Due to the success of the program, the method is now being licensed to other coaches in Europe. Products such as inspiration cards and a meditation CD are currently being produced and have just been released in English in the US. Ms Alsén has just sold Creative Futures, and licensed CORE. She will remain in control of CORE, and its subsequent spread in Europe.
MsFreckles – Co-founder and CEO
Founded in August 1999 as a new media entertainment company offering networking, entertainment, lifestyles and practical support to an increasing number of Scandinavian career women. MsFreckles provided consumer company showrooms with e-commerce, interactive entertainment, mobile games and was the first company in the world to air an Internet Comedy on television. MsFreckles attracted major funding from lead investors in Scandinavia and soon became one of the most popular contributions to the new economy in Sweden, attracting some of the most brilliant minds in Scandinavian business and generating an excess of 200 articles in major media.
Junior Chamber Sweden - Secretary General
Lotta Alsén created a new organization focusing on business and entrepreneurship within the Junior Chamber between 1995 and 1997. This self-financed organization with five employees aimed to improve entrepreneurship through strengthening the internal responsibilities of the organization with a project-based secretariat directing lobbying activities, contacts and alliances with top Scandinavian business management. The results were acknowledged on an International level, as well as with media.
The Nestlé Corporation – Executive Management Trainee
Selected Lotta as one of nine Executive Management Trainees out of 2000 young graduate applicants in 1993 and she became Product Manager and finally Manager of the Purchasing Division 1995. Lotta was also responsible for building a “Think Tank” to improve creativity, foresight and competence within the company
Brain Power to the Baltic – Founder
In February 1993 Lotta Alsén founded a non-profit organization, a successful initiative to bring Swedish graduates to the Baltic Countries, which led to over 100 Swedish outstanding graduates working in top management positions for 6 months to a year in the Baltic countries. The project, which became a great success, received extensive media coverage.
Talmakarna (1996 – 1997) – Co-Founder
Lotta was one of the founders of this Rhetoric and Debating Company, which focused on teaching rhetoric and debating to others.
AFFILIATIONS
Lotta Alsén is currently the President of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce Greater Los Angeles. She was a board member of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco between 2002 and 2005. Lotta is also a former Board member of the KaosPilots, www.kaospilots.dk, an Internationally recognized Innovative Leadership University in Denmark.
She speaks regularly at conferences on personal leadership, on pursuing your dreams, and on how to create your own path. In 2004 she was invited to speak about the Future of Coaching at the Coachville Conference. She has had many articles written about her as a female pioneer and also writes columns on entrepreneurialism, coaching, the future of work, and personal leadership.
She became an Honorary Member of Junior Chamber International 1997. In 1997 she was on the Board of Advisers for ”Ljusåret 1997”, a nationwide campaign with the top industrial leaders of Sweden, e.g. Leif Edvinsson, the Brain of the Year, 1998 and civic leaders, e.g. the Minister of Industry aimed at increasing Swedish innovation and entrepreneurship. In 1995 she introduced ”debating” to Sweden in 1995 for Junior Chamber Sweden.
EDUCATIONAL MERITS
Lotta got her Master of Science in International Economics in 1992 at the University of Linköping, Sweden, coupled with MBA-studies at EADA, a Spanish MBA-school.
In 2002 she started studying with Richard Leider, one of the most well-known life coaches in the US. In 2003 she enrolled in the Graduate School of Coaching, where she focused on executive and entrepreneurial coaching. In 2003 she started working personally with one of the best coaches in the US, Barbara Mark, the former president of IAC, the International Association of Coaches, who she worked with for almost five years. Since 2003, Lotta has kept on improving her coaching skills, creating her own methodology, CORE-coaching. Already now, there are 20 CORE™-coaches, and the system is licensed, and being taught throughout Sweden, and Europe.
YOGA, SINGING & WRITING
In 2004 Lotta became a certified Ashtanga Yoga Teacher. Since then she has continued to learn many different forms of yoga and has practiced with, and been inspired, by many of the pioneers in the yoga world. She has just released a yoga DVD and a meditation CD, and she already has created Quickenings Cards that sell in Europe and in the US. She got her second level of Reiki training diploma in March 2006. She’s also a singer, and has taken acting and improv classes in order to facilitate all the above processes. In 2004, she published her first book, “Don’t Panic”, together with the Swedish author Troed Troedson. The book was built on the latest research on complexity, and how the increasing complexity of our lives affects individuals, companies as well as societies. All in all, Ms Alsén has been featured in over 200 articles. She’s a columnist at Huffingtong Post, and she’s currently writing a book on Leadership, based on her leadership method.
